
David Buckley
Customer Experience Innovation Manager, Diversey - A Solenis Company
Dr. David Buckley is the Customer Experience Innovation Manager within Diversey’s Global Research and Development Innovation Team, where he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on gathering customer insights, conducting field testing, and validating innovation projects to exceed customer expectations. He previously served as R&D Principal Scientist and Technical Consulting Lead for Retail and Food Services North America.
In addition to his role at Diversey, David is an adjunct faculty member at Clemson University and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Food Protection. He is also the Vice-Chair of Food Hygiene and Sanitation at the International Association for Food Protection. David manages externally funded food safety research projects at Diversey, addressing key applied science questions, and represents Diversey at food safety industry events. His work has resulted in 12 peer-reviewed publications. Outside of food safety, David serves as Deputy Commander of Clinical Administration in the United States Army National Guard.
David holds a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from East Carolina University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Clemson University with a focus on virology. Prior to joining Diversey, David was a visiting scientist at Procter & Gamble, evaluating cleaning processes and the effectiveness of cleanliness indicators. After completing his Ph.D., David joined the USDA Agricultural Research Service as a Research Microbiologist, where he investigated novel intervention technologies for efficacy against foodborne bacterial and viral pathogens.
