Jean-François Archambault
Executive Director & Founder, La Tablée des Chefs
Jean-François Archambault has always had food and people & happiness at heart. After studying at the Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec, he was quickly promoted to manager in the hotel sector. In 2002, in front of culinary, food and hotel industry leaders, he presented the bold idea of salvaging surplus food from hotels and caterers in order to feed people dealing with food insecurity. The project quickly took shape and became La Tablée des Chefs. Through this organization, Jean-François brings chefs and cooks together on a community level, in the belief that they have the interest and capacity to tackle the issue of hunger, particularly by sharing their invaluable culinary knowledge. Over the years, La Tablée des Chefs has remained true to its dual mission of Feed and Educate. Today, the organization, whose credibility is second to none, has become a benchmark in the fight against food insecurity and food waste. That' why, in May 2023, C2 MTL, Canada's largest creative business event, invited Jean-François to deliver a keynote presentation entitled "Changing the world one meal at a time" Jean-François is the recipient of several awards, including the Gold Medal from the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec in 2018 and in 2015, the Meritorious Service Cross from the Governor General of Canada.
