John Bunner
Operations Director, Alo Food Group
John Bunner is Operations Director at Toronto’s Alo Food Group. He got his start in the hospitality industry as a cocktail bartender at the Toronto Temperance Society. He joined Michelin-starred Alo as Bar Manager upon its opening in 2015 before going on to help lead the development and continuing operations of Aloette, Michelin-starred Alobar Yorkville, Alobar Downtown and Salon Private Dining, as well as a collection of quick service outlets (Aloette Go), an events and catering enterprise (Alo Catering), food and beverage consulting projects, and consumer packaged goods initiatives. At the Alo Food Group, John plays a key role in shaping the company's strategic direction and ensuring excellence in operations across all outlets. In his day to day work, he oversees the company’s financial controls and reporting as well as its human resources functions and marketing efforts.
