Dr. Leland Harper is a Canadian philosopher who researches in philosophy of religion and philosophy of race. Currently, he is focused on the connections between interpersonal and institutional racism and the terms we use to describe race-based situations. This is addressed in a recently co-authored text titled Racist, Not Racist, Antiracist: Language and the Dynamic Disaster of American Racism. He is jointly-appointed as Associate Professor of Philosophy, and Associate Professor of Race, Justice, and Equity Studies at Siena Heights University, and is editor of the Philosophy of Race book series at Vernon Press. In addition to his academic pursuits, he operates Leland Harper Consulting, offering diversity, equity, and inclusion services to organizations across Canada.
