Makina Labrecque is a Regional Bar Manager at Concorde Entertainment Group. With over ten years of experience in hospitality she has carved out a niche for herself as a community leader in the Calgary market. Makina (Mak) has worked both front facing (previously Proof Cocktail Bar, Lulu Bar, Ricardo’s Hideaway) bar roles, and has participated in Brand Ambassador engagement with Diageo, working with the Reserve Portfolio on training and educating the market through creative activations. Makina believes that exceptional hosting and curiosity is engrained in the fabric of who we are and strives to ensure all Concorde venues are examples of inclusive hospitality. Concorde is a group of restaurants and cocktail bars dedicated to exceptional food and drink service in fun, innovative concepts that offer guests a variety of diverse options in Calgary, Canmore, and Toronto. Makina works on developing cocktail menu concepts and focuses on expanding shared experiences through extensive alcohol-free offerings on the menus she develops.

Makina has been an outspoken advocate for success in the hospitality industry as a non- drinker and hopes to one day see the alcohol-free space in Calgary expand to create a dining landscape that is inclusive for those that choose not to imbibe alcohol.
