Shingo Gokan began his bartending career in 2001. After moving to the United States alone in 2006, he honed his skills at prestigious bars in New York. In 2012, he represented the United States at the world's largest cocktail competition at the time, the Bacardi Legacy, and won the world championship. In the same year, he was invited to the American Bar at the Savoy Hotel in London as the first and last guest bartender in its 130-year history.

In 2014, he opened Speak Low in Shanghai, and subsequently expanded to 12 different concept bars and restaurants in Tokyo, Okinawa, New York, Hong Kong and Madrid. He has received a record 50 awards in the WORLD'S / ASIA'S 50 BEST BARS.

In 2017, he won the "International Bartender of the Year" at the Tales of the Cocktail, considered the Academy Awards of the bar industry. In the ASIA'S 50 BEST BARS, he was awarded the "Altos Bartenders' Bartender" in 2019, chosen by bartenders, and the "Roku Industry Icon Award" in 2021, recognizing the most influential figure in the bar industry for that year.

In 2020, together with three major distilleries, he launched "The SG Shochu," a shochu brand made for bars. At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, all three varieties won gold and double gold, promoting shochu worldwide.

In 2023, he introduced a new brand "KOKUTO DE LEQUIO" using Okinawan black sugar to address surplus stock issues, contributing to society through various approaches. He also showcased his product development skills by releasing an original glass series "SIP AND GUZZLE," expanding his activities beyond bartending.

Currently, based in Tokyo and New York, he produces bars globally, serves as a guest bartender, and judges competitions, with over 100 flights per year.
